Guardian™ Connect

Continuous glucose monitoring

rediction up to 60 minutes in advance!

The CGM* Guardian™ Connect system (*Continuous Glucose Monitoring) works with a sensor that you have to change every 6 days and which is connected to a rechargeable transmitter. The sensor measures glucose in the interstitial fluid and this measurement is sent via the transmitter to the Guardian Connect application that you have installed on your compatible mobile device.
Medtronic Guardian Sensor 3 sensors consist of a thin and flexible electrode that is inserted subcutaneously, just below your skin. Once the sensor is installed, you will no longer feel it. The electrode is in constant contact with the interstitial fluid. A chemical reaction between the glucose and the electrode material allows the sensor to continuously measure your blood sugar levels.
A small transmitter connected to the sensor transmits this information to your compatible mobile device via Bluetooth.
The sensor measures glucose in the interstitial fluid and not directly in the bloodstream (from where the conventional blood glucose meter measures).
There is a slight delay, due to human physiology, of about seven minutes until glucose is transferred from the blood to the interstitial fluid.
Therefore, it is to be expected that at some point in time, the sugar value measured in a finger measurement will differ from that given by the Guardian Connect.

Smart forecasts help you focus on your life,
not your glucose levels.
